I recently sent this email about color inks to a friend of mine and I thought I'd pass it on to you and this group. Best, John V. Here's a nice primer on the most popular inks: http://www.tssphoto.com/sp/dg/archival_inks.html -------------------------------------------------------------------------- For an ink that is both vibrant and works on glossy with some longevity thrown in - Lyson Fotonics are the way to go. This page mentions the pros and cons of this inkset: http://www.tssphoto.com/sp/dg/news/archive/IJN_06-21-01.html Also check out this comparison page of Epson 1280 ink's to Fotonics: http://www.tssphoto.com/sp/dg//news/fotonic/index.html --------------------------------------------------------------------------- For fine art matte prints the most popular inks are the Generations 4 inks. The inks don't perform well with glossy papers as it leaves a dusting. I recommend this ink if artists would like to print archival - 100+ years - fine art works on matte paper. The color gamut is about 95% of the Epson inks on matte paper - if you don't compare them side by side you will never miss that 5%. These inks can be purchased at: http://www.inkjetmall.com Has NAPP 10% discount! http://www.mediastreet.com http://www.wilhelm-Research.com/ Gen. 4 inks are rated for over 100 years
