Have you tried to slide the little white (on a 2000P it is white) retainer lever down under the head and then move the head by hand, as you would do for a chip reset procedure? I think something got jammed in the mounting station position. Do not let it grind too much, you never know how it will affect or damage the cogs. After the head moves to the left, you should check that there is no ink or any other deposit on the striped film ribbon. If the microscopic stripes are blocked the head doesn't know where it is, since every line passed gives a pulse to tell the printer the horizontal head position. Print head jammed Hi- I have installed a Niagara CIS in my 1200, and after running some cleaning cycles and printing nozzle checks, the print assembly is now jammed at the right "parked position", with the load and power lights flashing, and the replace cartridge lights on. If I turn it off and restart, there is a grinding of gears but the head doesn't move out of parked and the lights go back on, with an errror message on screen. During the setup I was cleaning infeed rollers and sliding the head back and forth for access and to check for smooth running of the tubing Any ideas to get it running again?
