Greetings, I have the IP4 software presently. I bought a copy of the MAC version in April but ran into a problem. On my system, I have been unable to get the data to pass to the spooler to actually print. Whether this is a problem in the software, or my particular system (I suspect this) has yet to be resolved. The people at Colorbyte have been excellent to work with. When the problem cropped up, they lent me a copy of the PC software which I am now using, and have had excellent results. I am still working on the problem, will be shipping them my machine during the summer so they can work on it first hand. The system I installed the software on is a Power PC 8500 with a Sonnet G4 upgrade board running at 400 Megahertz and 1GB of RAM. I am running MAC OS 9.0.4 right now but am going to take it up to 9.2 in the next few days. You could say I'm running a sort of "Model T" system in an SUV age. This is probably the source of my problems. Right now, I have a Dell 8100 running XP hooked up to my 7000. To print, I transfer my file over to it on a ZIP disc from my MAC and then print it out using the IP4 software. That part has worked from the gitgo. The MAC version of the software is lacking some of the PC features, particularly the color correction and ink controls, but I believe that those will be added in in future releases. The interface does seem somewhat less "polished" but effective. As far as the MAC problem, right now I can bring an image into the software, but once I send it to the printer, the spooler doesn't get the data, so it doesn't print. There seems to be some breakdown between these two parts of the program ON MY MACHINE. I emphasize that I believe this problem may be specific to my particular setup. I would be very interested to hear from anyone else out there who is using the MAC software, or who runs into a similar situation. I seem to have baffeled the folks ay Colorbyte and I know they'd like to find out what's going on. Butch Hulett
