Charles Brandes I am trying to develop curves for VM on the 1160 using somerset Velvet and am not making much progress. The curves that Paul supplied for Epson Matte are too dark. Could I have the curves that you use? ----- Original Message ----- From: charles_bandes To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, May 19, 2002 2:05 AM Subject: [Digital BW] Re: good paper to start with? I use the MIS VM inks, so my info might not be super-useful. However, I've printed with both of the papers you mentioned. I _really_ like the Legion Photo Matte, though it's a little pricey. The Epson Heavyweight Matte I don't like so well - Epson Archival Matte is much nicer, and not tooooooo much more expensive. My choice right now - EAM for proofing, Somerset Velvet for final prints, Epson Watercolor when I need to save money on less critical final prints. (But I really don't like the epson watercolor, and have basically decided to use it only for accordian-book projects, where it's important to keep costs down because it's too easy to screw up.)
