Digital BW, The Print

Has anyone come up with a good formula for scanning Polaroid 665
negatives 
using the Epson1680 (using SilverFast, VueScan, Epson Twain, etc.)? 
I have a whole 
library of images created with the Polaroid 665 negatives and I would
like a 
predictable method for optimizing scans using the Epson 1680.  Any
suggestions 
such as photoshop plug-ins, scanning software that would further
optimize the 
negs would be great!
