Jonathan,

Working with Polaroid's Positive/negative film as part of a digital workflow
has been covered in depth in a series of articles by George DeWolfe in View
Camera Magazine.

I believe the most recent article was in the Nov/Dec 2001 issue. I suggest
you contact the magazine to see if you can get a back issue.
