Nicholas Harmann Interview

2002-07-01 by Martin Wesley

As some of you may recall Nick Hartmann started a thread some months back on the subject of mono-ink prints. There is a really great two part interview, with some of Nick's excellent images, by Mike Jonhston on the Steve's DigiCams site. You will find them at:

http://www.steves-digicams.com/smp/06162002.html (part 1) and
http://www.steves-digicams.com/smp/06302002.html (part 2)

and on Michael Reichmann's Luminous Landscape site:

http://www.luminous-landscape.com/new_page_20.htm (part 1, with a
link to part 2).

The interview also includes a link to this list. Thanks to both Nick and Mike.

I know that some of Nick's remarks will cause controversy in some quarters, but I have seen some of his work first hand and his techniques work very well with his images. I have used it myself and for some of my images it is a good match. If you haven't tried this, give it a shot.

It can be a tool as well to pinpoint problems in a workflow. Especially when you run into posterization!

Congratulations to Nick on the article and on his show.
