Am giving up on my 1160...

2002-07-12 by Jerry Olson

I just did everything ever mentioned on the list about cleaning the 1160
printer. Everything. Amazingly, nozzle checks and head alignment are
perfect. I still have corduroy type banding in and around the 75 percent
black position, almost looks like a dry brush dragged across the paper
in perfect 1/8 inch bands, and cannot get rid of it. I suppose it is
about time to give it up and order another 1280. I've squirted pure
ammonia through the heads, and did all the other tricks mentioned on the
list and in the archives. I usually never have had trouble with quad
inks on a 1160 printer.

Out of curiosity, has anyone ever printed on Eclipse satine paper, 1280
printer, and Epson's BLACK ink only? Is there still metamerism? Can you
use 2880 with mat paper if you set the media setting for glossy?

Thanks,

Jerry
