Digital BW, The Print

I am working on a project for a client who has bought a Nikon 8000- Several
hundred 6x6 negs in strips of 4.

The first problem is that the 4  neg strips won¹t fit in the supplied
carriers- is there another carrier that would work?

Second, can anyone suggest a workflow for producing 16 bit scans @ 4000
dpi?- which settings to turn off or on, etc.?  Am I correct that there is no
provision for applying an input or output profile?

What potential problems with the scanner should I look for?
