Too expensive 2200 inks! Alternatives? (Was: 2200 Printer)

If what Jerry is saying here is true and the output is not so much
then I too am worried that this is too much $$$$ when Epson inks are
factored in.

So let me ask:  What good pigment based alternatives are there than
the 2000P?  Can you buy a 1270/1280, a CIS and some kind if
pigment-based color inks that work well?

Anyone done this or have suggestions?
