Jim Hayes, Many thanks for your help. All this week I have been soaking the 1160 print head and nothing was happening. Today I was able to take off the CIS and put in Epson inks. On the second cleaning, I had good nozzle checks. I've printed some color images and they look fine with no banding. Because of some things going on in my life, I don't want to put another CIS on the machine because it could sit idle for 3 or 4 months at a time. And that seems to be what caused the problem to begin with. I am very hopeful that when I put in the piezo carts (new version) that I will not have banding problems or bad nozzle checks. So I will order some Piezo carts. I need to print 13 10x10 prints so I assume that I will probably print 25 to 35 prints to get the 13. I'm wondering if I need to order 2 sets. Again, many thanks. This is the first time I have had to get "inside" the 1160 and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. In fact I bought the set-up from someone else so I didn't even install the CIS. I'll be braver next time. Oh, one more thing. There was a black gummy circle around the black position. I used the fantastic and a paper towel to clean and wick up the gum. Billie---looking forward to some prints with the new Piezo inks.
