The cost of the D100 is for the body only. And as far as the quality all depend of the lenses you use, and the best Nikon zoom lenses are not cheap...and the affordable Nikon zoom lenses... I doubt they are better that the lens mounted in the E20. I know the lens is not removable, but this protect the CCD of dust. Otherwise, it was only a thought, I don't have a clear idea about the best worthwhile option. Best Aitor
