doug,

the "negative prescan" options are not in the prefs, but in the controls.

Look at the bottom of the tools pallet under "scanner extras" - "prescan
mode". "automatic" is the default, scroll down to "lo cont. neutral"

This is the last option before "calibrate" in the tools pallet.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
