Here's a great tip for anybody who has ever experienced frequent
freezing of the screen when using photoshop.

Find and remove the plugin: AltiVecCore. It's a plugin that comes with photoshop.

It is the cause of most of photoshop crashes. Got this advice on a
photoshop list. I removed it over a month ago and have not had a crash
since. I used to have them 3 or more times a day, doing nothing more
than retouching with the clone tool. Move the mouse one time too many,
and it crashed the program.
