Even they know the reps are soft.. Perfect example: in November of 2000 the product managgers and engineers admitted there was ye olde orange shift.. The day before, at the same show, the reps had said they had never heard of it and the images were as "archival as silver prints"... that's a full six months after the problem was obvious.. When I do reviews I don't even talk to the marketing people anymore except as a courtesy. Only the engineers can answer the REAL questions.. Let's be honest, most of these "reps" majored in advertising, marketing, business, or finance... Last time I checked, photography, printing, and/or graphic imaging were rarely components of tose disciplines in college.. They are the barkers of the Midway, they get the great mass of public to enter the tent... Those on these lists are going to choose oe tent or another anyway, we don't need to be convinced the shows are worth attending in the general sense, instead we make our choice based upon our own knowledge of the performers...
