The Selenium inks have an "eggplant" undertone as opposed to the "blue" undertone of the FS-N's to my eye. I'm getting on average 0.15 greater dmax with the Piezotones. For certain papers this is a huge difference in performance. In my book Somerset Enhanced was unusable in the past because of poor blacks...it now measures equal to EAM (about 1.75 dmax). In addition the piezotones solve problems with several papers...for instance Museo which mottled in the 70-90% range with the MIS and old PiezoBW inks. I used the FS-N inks briefly and really didn't like the tone...too blue. I have now switched my 7000 over to the Seleniums...they are really beautiful. It's easy to find "your" neutral with the Selenium's by simply experimenting with different papers. You will however, need to experiment with different profiles in the piezo driver to find the best one for a given paper...the profile for that paper is not necessarily the best with the piezotones (the profiles were made for the older inks).
