I'm using Imageprint (mac) with a 7000 printing the Selenium Piezotones.
The existence of a mac version was what initially tipped me towards
Imageprint over Piezopro...but the availability of "profiles on demand" and
their incredible quality is what makes me a happy imageprint user. After
some initial startup problems which the colorbyte tech support helped me
through I've had relatively few problems with the interface. It is
absolutely critical to learn the Colorbyte workflow and follow it...but it
is in the end much easier than my workflow with the Piezo plugin...no custom
dot density functions necessary to get the file right when switching between
papers. I'm currently testing beta profiles for the Piezotones...they
haven't officially been released yet...but I can safely say that they are
the finest, sharpest quad profiles that I've seen. There is 0.5% separation
from 0 to 100% and the images are incredibly sharp compared to the output
that I was getting with the Piezo Plugin...even on the 1280 which is a
higher resolution printer than the 7000. Colorbyte is currently working on
recipes for the desktop printers for the Piezotones so I will report back
once I've tested them with the 1280. The one stepwedge that I've seen
printed with Piezopro using the piezotones showed a major flaw at around 50%
on photo rag...I think new profiles are needed and I'm not sure whether Cone
intends to do them or not. If you are using MIS FS inks or the original
Cone inks I imagine that the Piezopro profiles are great.

If you have other specific questions I'd be glad to answer them...but I'm
very satisfied with the product and the support.
