Digital BW, The Print

I stuck up this test file that I did this morning, showing several 
toning methods for a file that was scanned greyscale, then 
converted to RGB. (I should try Antonis' suggestion of toning in 
Lab mode next...). Each of the nine frames is toned using either 
Curves, or Levels, or HSB. I print this out and compare to the 
softproof, or, the monitor representation in my working space 
(ColorMatch RGB). Does this seem dumb?....
