Vuescan.  www.hamrick.com.  This is used by many people.  The interface is not too good but the profiles are good.

  Since switching to OSX and photoshop 7, I can only scan using the Nikon scan
  software, rather than scanning directly into Photoshop as I used to. This is
  slower and a pain! Is there inexpensive software I could use until NIkon
  comes out with the download for osx?
