Hello I tried some experiments with PowerRIP 2000 V6.05 (the latest version at http://www.iproofsystems.com) with my 1160 and 1290. Is this the same basic software? I have to say I was mightily unimpressed by the amount of banding and poor highlights (big dots). I was using epson inks on the 1290 and Lyson SG on the 1160. The rip was on a Mac running as a print server and used profiles that give fine results using the epson driver. I sent an email request for further information from the company and never heard any more. Just as well they provide a demo version of the software... If anyone is successfully using the s/w please let me know, I played around with lots of settings, but none of the results even approached the standard drivers. Looking again at their website, I notice that they are about to supply a Mac OSX 10.2 epson driver for Epson printers++, and what's more it will support RGB and CMYK output (http://www.iproofsystems.com/iProofX/iProofXhomepage.htm) Does anyone have any info on this?? Could this perhaps give certain other non-epson drivers ( and their ink-sets) a run for their money?? :-)) bye for now Keith Cooper Northlight IT Ltd http://www.Northlight-IT.com ++printers supported *Stylus Pro 10000 Photographic · Stylus Pro 10000 Archival · Stylus Pro 9500 · Stylus Pro 9000 · Stylus Pro 7500 · Stylus Pro 7000 · Pro 5500 · Pro 5000 · Stylus C80 · Stylus C70 · Stylus C60 · Photo 2000P · Photo 1290 · Photo 1280 · Photo 1270 · Photo 1200 · Photo EX3 · Photo EX · Photo 890 · Photo 880 · Photo 875DC · Photo 870 · Photo 820 · Photo 810 · Photo 790 · Photo 780 · Photo 750 · Photo 700 · Photo · Stylus Scan 2500 Pro · Stylus Scan 2500 · Stylus Scan 2000 · Color 3000 · Color 1520 · Color 1500* · Color 1160 · Color 980 · Color 900 · Color 900N · Color 900G · Color 880 · Color 860 · Color 850 · Color 850Ne · Color 800 · Color 800N · Color 777 · Color 760 · Color 740 · Color 740i · Color 680 · Color 640 · Color 600 · Color 500* · Stylus Color* · Color ll* · Pro XL+* · Pro XL* · Stylus Pro*. *Indicates non-USB supported printers.
