Robert Morrison sent me some test strips that he printed on his 1280 using PiezoTone Selenium midtones and MIS FS black ink. He also sent test strips that were printed with the PiezoTone black inks for comparison. These prints used the Piezo driver. The test strips with the much more stable MIS FS black ink look very good. I have scanned them and Martin just posted them in the Files section <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint/files/> in folder > Ink Sets > PiezoTones. The image is called "PiezoTone + FS-K.jpg." The scan includes comparison test strips on both Epson Archival Matte (EAM) and PhotoRag. Robert also sent his densitometer readings of the black/100% patches. The PT-K is somewhat darker, but the differences are not that great. On EAM the PT-K has a density of 1.66; the FS-N has a density of 1.63. On PhotoRag the difference was more: 1.69 for PT-K, 1.58 for FS-K. The FS black ink might be a good solution for those wanting more stability than the PT-K ink offers. Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com
