The MIS FS, FS-N, VM, & VM-S blacks are all the same. They are different than the old MIS Archival and Quad blacks. They are also different than the MIS "Double Density" black. The MIS FS/VM black is the best pure pigment black I've tested, with the exception that the 2200 UltraChrome black might be even better. However, we don't know if the UltraChrome matte black will work in normal Epson printers, and you'd have to buy a 9600 cart and suck out the ink - an expensive option that may not be that much better than the MIS FS/VM black anyway.
