I can't believe I'm posting this here, because I'm sick of all talk about digital cameras, but I thought that some of you would be interested in this rumor. It is unconfirmed on my part; I just read it on the web. This from Steve's Digicams today: Canon Europe "Slips Up" With Premature Release of Info Regarding the Upcoming EOS-1Ds SLR I have been swamped with emails from folks all over the globe letting me know about the premature release of info on Canon Europe's web site yesterday about the upcoming EOS-1Ds SLR. This info was supposed to remain a secret until just before the start of the Photokina show in Germany on Sept. 25th but it's out of the bag now. The new Canon EOS-1Ds will feature a full-frame (in 35mm equivalent) image sensor with a total of 11.1 million pixels of resolution. We can only guess at this point that it will be built on the existing EOS-1D body and that it will possibly sell for around $7600. End Snip.
