Hi Dave,

Because most of them get color crossovers like reddish shadows and cyan highlights. This is a horrible combination in my opinion. Especially
prevalent with epson inks. With a great amount of tweaking, you can probably get a good print, such as color balancing the shadows, midtones
and highlights separately in photoshop.

But a prints inks fade at different times. One color will always shift before the other colors. And then you'll get a color shift you may
not want in your print. With the archival inks, this won't be a problem for many years. But it is just So much easier to print black and
whites with quad or hextone inks.

I got the 1280 because they solved the chip problem in that printer and a CIS is available that works, and it produces incredible quality
prints.]

You should be able to come very close. Be sure you profile your monitor, and get a profile built for the MIS inkset and your favorite paper.
