That is where the steep toner curve starts.  Other 1290s seem to handle it
well.  So, your machine might be slightly off or something in your settings
may be different.  Before, tweaking the curve, I'd re-check the settings.

Now it is sounding like the cyan (main midtone) was missing.  Be sure to do
a nozzle check.  However, if the cyan ink(s) are not firing right, none of
the curves would print well.

I'd check the rest of the system before tweaking any curves.  Also, I'll
send you curves off list just in case the warm curve that MIS posted is
corrupted.
