MIS came out with the following blurb (c&p) last year but there is no follow up on their site. Did anyone check into this? It seems it's for glossy papers only and there aren't that many - so it's not the "silver bullet". Dec 3, 2001 - MIS Gloss Coat for Pigmented Inks We are experimenting with a new creation called MIS GLOSS COAT for our pigmented inks. When the MIS GLOSS COAT is applied to a pigmented (archival color or Quadtone) print made on GLOSSY paper, it produces a beautiful looking glossy print, that is durable and scratch resistant. The dull areas and surface ink problems disappear like magic. Making a good (beautiful and durable) glossy print with the MIS Archival or MIS Quadtone pigmented inks has always been a problem. The new MIS GLOSS COAT solves this problem. Here is the good part. It is NOT a spray can or "brush on" coating. It does not smell nor is it toxic. It is not expensive. It is easy to put on it does not run or bubble. Goes on uniformly using a printer, with no effort. It has UV resistance and increases the archival life of glossy prints. It will not yellow, crack or peel with age. This is a new product we are introducing. It is not on the website. If you are interested in trying it, let us know. Send an email to glosscoat
