Digital BW, The Print

I ordered variable tone quad carts for my Epson 1200 and just 
realized MIS sent me the correct color cartridge, but the wrong 
black.  They seem to be closed for a week or so and I am impatient to 
get going.  Can I use the MIS color cartridge with the Epson black 
until they open up again?  I intend to print on EAM paper.  It would 
be nice to start experimenting, as I assume it will take a while to 
produce reasonable prints.  I hope that this is not an indication of 
their customer service.
