I've been using the piezo software/original inks with no hassle for a while now, so I've stuck with it. That said I have experimented with using Black Ink only on my Epson 1200 with Generations 4 black ink. I was quite surprised at the high quality of the print. From 35mm tri-x, the printer dots fit in nicely with the film grain. I also tried an experiment with printing twice. First with the black only, Then a second pass using color inks over the black ink print. I was surprised to find that perfect registration was not necessary (nor likely) but the results were quite usable and interesting. -Bruce
