The cyan and magenta position inks are doubled-up in the photo positions and the driver alternates between the two. The EPSON RGB driver fires the photo position inks from 254-0 while the full strength inks fire from 128 to 0. The photo position actually stops firing before 0 - but this gives you an idea of why its difficult to produce a good mono process for a 6 color printer without a special driver. It would be easier to create a workflow if the inks crossed over and stopped. A parser can actually trap the spool data being sent to each printer.
