You may find this method as helpful as I have for creating several test strips on a single sheet - you can compare Paul's Curves, USM settings, Layer effects or anything else on the same piece of image, alongside one another. My setup is PS 6, an 1160 with Epson driver & Paul's curves, but I'm sure it's easily adaptable to Piezography or other systems. Thanks to Antonis for helping me get here. To print horizontal 8x2" strips (the printer is faster if the selection is in the same direction as the head moves) 5 times down a "portrait" oriented sheet. On an 8.5x11 sheet : 1. on the image to test print, use the rectangular marquee to select a fixed size, say 2 inch x 8 inches (file must have been converted from 16 to 8 bit & be in RGB mode, make a duplicate if necessary). 2. Save the selection to an Alpha Channel (which can be reloaded). 3. Load the Selection > apply the Curve, or USM, or any other effect to test 4. in Print Options, for the 1st test strip - Position > set the Top position to .25 & the Left position to .25 (to leave a little white border), and Page Setup> Properties> Main & Paper > select your usual preferences. 5. Print> Print Range > choose Selection (if Selection option is grayed out, go back to image and make sure selection is loaded/active. 6. for the 2nd test strip, set the Top position to 2.25 inches 7. for the 3rd ,set it to 4.25 inches and so on, adding the width of the strip (2") each time for the 4th, 5th - 5 8x2 strips fit comfortably.
