I once tried clearing an 1160 with cleaning carts (the flavor available from MIS) with greatly underwhelming results.<g> The Epson carts run through really helped a lot more. I've considered filling some carts with either 1-10% ammoninia or some percent ethanol or polyprolyene glycol, or even clear Epson base from MIS site, but just never got around to it. And I've only tried direct injection into printhead once (Fantastik). I think if I got really desperate and the Epson carts didn't cut it, I would probably try this cart-filled-with-chemical approach first before direct injection as it's more gentle....less forceful on the piezo chamber than direct injection. I just don't know which substance would be the best cleaning with the least damage to head, chemically. Any thoughts on this considered.
