Kemal, >I am printing with MIS WM-Sepia inks on Epson 3000 printer. >I would like to buy FS-N inks to try with the Cone driver. >If I understand right I shall only buy yellow position ink and >save some money. True? The magenta also needs to be changed. I recently made the change from vm-s to fs-n, although for a different reason. I just put in two carts -- the yellow and magenta -- and then did a number of cleaning cycles for the color ink only. Previously, I'd used the "prepare for transport" procedure (page 6-9 of my manual) to clean out the lines when switching ink. I think in the future I'll use the "prepare for transport" procedure. In either case the day after the first attempt, you'll find the old ink has come back (from the dampers, I'm told). However, the second "prepare for transport" seemed to totally take care of the problem the last time I switched, whereas the cleaning cycles seemed to be less effective. It would be interesting to know if the 3000, like my 1160, keeps track of the cleaning cycles and shuts itself off after a certain number, and also whether/how the machine counts the "prepare for transport" procedures. How the internal counter treats these events might affect which procedure I used. I would probably select the method that put off the required service call as much as possible.
