Panotols interpolation methods

2002-11-19 by Steven Karafyllakis

Hi all;

I've noticed in demo-ing Panotools that you are
offered 'bicubic' 'Spline-S' and some higher orders of 'Spline-S'
all the way up to 'Spline-32' which I assume means a 32x resampling,
or some such thing, I'm not too clear on the details. What is fairly
clear from the examples on the panotools site is that Spline-32 is
much better than bicubic, Spline-S, Genuine Fractals, or anything
else I've come across. The question I hope some of you more
experienced Panotool users can answer is this: Is it possible to use
the program only to interpolate up with a single image, with out any
of the distortions intended to stich images together? If so, that
would give us a very valuable re-sizing tool... anybody know?
