Todd, Yes, these are pure pigments - they are very finely ground and are running thorugh Iris printers in testing right now from what I understand. I don't read the piezo color list, but what I have heard from various folks here and there is that the color piezo black is not as strong as others, and there is some problems with yellow - but don't qoute me on that - As far as metamerism goes, I did not see any samples of the quad blacks, or any black and white prints - they were all in color. I saw the pictures in daylight and then in indoor light - I did not notice any difference. If you read a post by Jim Robbins on the Inkoptions list he gives a more scientific comparison about metamerism in the indelible vs epson pigment. I guess I need to brush up on that. I know of one person who has used both piezo color and now indelible ink. I hope he will post his findings soon. You all would definately respect his opinion! why do I like these colors over more established brands? - On watercolor paper they are brighter than all the dye inks I have seen. As soon as I get these running I will post the difference in Density between the black in the indelible, fotonics, epson dye, and cone black. I already took my fotonics out of the 9000, so I only have a few papers I can do that comparison on, but I have epson dye in the 890, and cone ink in the 1160. I have a ton of sample papers around here - I'll go to town and have some fun with it all. I'm going to read post #1 now. best to all, Tony --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@y..., Todd Flashner <tflash@e...> wrote: > Tony, > > These are reputably pure pigment inks, like the color piezo inks, right? > I've heard they have great gamut, but are they relatively free of metamerism > like the piezo inks, and is the black ink any deeper than the color piezo > black?
