Jerry, We have trouble-shot hundreds upon hundreds of 1280 printers. The 1280s are very prone to overspray problems. And our experience has been that users have not been able to fix it themselves. Either the heads or the= board which controls the heads needs replacement. We see these test patterns when we finally get unsettled users to send them in when they experience excessive banding or noisy prints or prints with excessive dot patterns. We verify overspray in the following tests: nozzle patterns may look fine, = but alignment patterns, when viewed under very strong magnification, have a tendency to print double rows of dots instead of connected dots. Also, the = spray tends to one side (usually the right side) so that overspray can be s= een on the border of a photograph (using a loop). In any case, when printing it= produces unwanted dots in many places or micro-banding. Print your alignment patterns and look with a strong loop to see the split = dots. Then call Ron Ardito to do your warranty repair. Arditos.com regards, Jon Cone Piezography™ Brand Inks and Software http://www.inkjetmall.com PS Jerry, I got your cool inks in, finally. ;)
