Tim, You're not missing anything. I believe you said you are using a 1280 with Epson dye inks? I have seen little or no metamerism with Epson dye inks. When you print a duotone from an Epson archival pigment printer you use 6 inks to reproduce the duotone (or tri or quad) that you created in Photoshop. In my experience all duotones produced from Epson pigment inks suffer some degree of metamerism... others have had better luck I'm told. If you could print using two inks (a true duotone from a press) then maybe this would help?? I don't find metamerism with the Epson pigment black so am wondering which or how many of the inks actually contribute to it. Carolyn > > My ignorance is gonna show here but here goes.
