Clayton, > Ahhh, I guess the 1160 just can't do it, bummer. As mentioned offlist, now that I'm using Dot Gain 20 all is good in the BO world on my 1160/VM setup. > Did you get close to WYSIWYG? Yes. But, now that I (we've) got the 1160 doing acceptable BO my 1270 is not an issue. I'll continue using that printer for color. > Try an MIS black cartridge...maybe you don't have to do the trade-off. > You saw the solid black on my "Vase and Pitcher" print, is that an > acceptable black? It's not as black as the dyes, but I like it, and > there's almost no color shift. Yes. Very acceptable black but, then again, my opinions on "acceptable" for black might be different than a lot of other folks. I remember back in the "good old days" of silver printing when we used such papers as Ilfomar, Cykora, Dupont Velour Black, etc. I really could not see any difference between, say, a 1.9 black and a 2.0 black. Granted, some of these papers were absolutely awful. And, the difference between 1.7 and 2.2 black was easily discrenable. But, all the "good" papers produced a good 'nuff black for me! ;>) > I'm going to send you some more prints. Anxiously awaiting their arrival. I'll be sending you something, too. > Really good news, please keep us posted. Great news, to me, because it appears that BO printing will offer me yet another "tool" to be used when appropriate. I just love options!! <g> Regards, Alan Huntley
