Tim, I just printed some black and white prints today, using the MIS color inkset and the Torchon Profile I had made for the printer. (1160) On Torchon, Epson Archival and Eclipse paper, this profile works very well indeed. No color cross overs, and a very close to neutral tone. I was absolutely amazed to get consistent black and white prints from the MIS color inkset. There are a couple ways to go, each offering a tiny different color tone. One is printing from an RGB file, and the other from a Grayscale file, both using the entire set of inks. The nicest tone was from the grayscale file. Almost identical to the quality you can get with the MIS VM inksets on these papers. I'm going to put a print in the south window tomorrow and see how the changes occur over the next couple months. Of course you don't have the option for warm and cool prints with the grayscale file, but you would with the color file. Haven't tried duotone prints with this setup yet, but I will tomorrow when the light is good. Jerry tyork@... wrote: > > My ignorance is gonna show here but here goes.
