Hi folks, I was printing with the new Photo Black cart on my Epson C80 and used Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper with the Premium Semigloss settings. I did only one test print and let it dry for about 15 minutes. I then experimented by rubbing a fine white cloth on the print and tried to scuff it to see how good the finish was. Unfortunately the new black cart for the C80 has been better in black rendition although I saw some problem. The problem is that on both Luster Photo Paper and Heavyweight Matte, there is "flaking" on the surface of the print. I see in the occasional dark spot part. black areas which are heavy a missing "circle" about 1-2mm in diameter in it like a missing pixel on a camera. And it's something which is consistently occuring which is bugging. I tried to clean the heads to no avail too. So should I: 1) Get a new printer? 2) Clean the heads again and again? 3) Let the print dry longer than 15 minutes before rubbing the cloth on it? 4) Stop printing in a dusty room (my room isn't particularly the cleanest of dust but I am thinking about a dust buster?)??? The new black for the C80 has this "flaking" problem. And I thought that this problem is supposed to be only with the Velvet Fine Art Paper??? AW
