Hi Jake, Take a look at "Creative Digital Printmaking" by Theresa Airey (Amphoto Books first published in 2001). She does a lot of hand tinting and hand coloring over an inkjet base. Whether or not you like her work might be another question but she does give some detail on her methodology.
