I just switched over last night to the MIS variable hextones in my 7000. So I am very early in the process. Paul sent me his curves, but I haven't had much luck with them in this short time. I will say, though, that the prints looked pretty OK even without his curves applied. Maybe quite a bit flat, but better than I expected. It is nice though, to see a grey wedge pop outta that machine that's very neutral. So if I can get the curves and color tone mastered, I'll be set. I did make the 31 prints on the MIS dyes, Martin, and I'll definitely send them. Personally, I think they look pretty darned nice. It's that Morgan Freeman image on my site, shot with 4x5 Polaroid neg. Toned slightly warmish/reddish. But honestly, all I can do today is wander around aimlessly. I came in to do scans at 10:30 this morning, and now it's 6:30 and I've yet to start. I keep thinking I'll wake up and realize that I've had this super-realistic dream. Reading Jennifer's post, I got a lump in my throat. I just cannot imagine. My first visit to NYC, I went up those giant banks of escalators in the basement of the World Trade, coming off the PATH train from Jersey City. They showed them on TV tonight, empty, covered in white soot. My jaw just dropped. So surreal. I brought my dogs to work, thinking somebody would come and hurt them at my house today; what the hell does that say? I am just speechless. Then Clark sent me that image on the Drudge Report: http://www.drudgereport.com/ It's just unimaginable.
