I don't usually print B&W on glossy papers, but I recently had a request for some glossy B&W prints so I tried the Pictorico high gloss white film in my 2200 using the full Ultrachrome ink set with the Photo Black. I was pleasantly surprised by the print quality and intense blacks. I used the free profile and recommended workflow available at the Pictorico web site which produced excellent neutrality in my greyscale prints. There was also dramatically less metamerism and bronzing compared to Epson's glossy papers. The latter improvements may be due to the higher quality of the Pictorico profile and/or the wicking of the inks down into the ceramic coating of the PGHG. Visually, the blacks seemed much more intense compared to the matte black on EAM. Does anyone have a dmax measurement for the Photo Black on PGHG?
