Re: [Digital BW] Air in my CIS lines

2002-12-29 by Barry Kelsall

Your system may just work fine if there is just a little air in it. But-

If you pulled the carts & left them without sealing the exit ports with
rivets or the optional tool from CIS, then perhaps too much air has entered
the system & you need to reprime it.

Use (one for each color)

"10 cc Terumo Plastic Syringe"

fitted with the

"MIS Bottom Fill Adapter"

found at

http://www.inksupply.com/index.cfm?source=html/accessory.html

The syringe with adapter is inserted into the bottom exit port of the
problem cart in the CIS/CFS. There is a rubber seal in the cart (my
experience is with 1160/1200) which will help form a vaccuum when pulling on
the syringe plunger to suck ink. If all is well ink flows freely into the
syringe through the CIS/CFS tubing & cart. Recycle the ink back into the ink
bottle & repeat until no more bubbles enter the syringe. Note that a little
air in the cart is part of the design, so don't be over-zealous.

While you are ordering parts from MIS, get some of their rivets also, to
seal the exit ports when changing carts.

good luck,
-BK
