With the fluid mount carrier of the 8000 that I have build, the scratches and dust on the film (including old B&W films) are much reduced. The grain is also visible in many cases. Polaroid 665 negs are resolved to nearly the grain over the entire surface scanable (6x9) and that is a fine emulsion. It is an indication of what the Nikon 8000 is able to. That it also can reduce the grain is another advantage. Ernst
