I don't "know" about the claim they make in the PDF about it not being a
particular problem with the UC inks... Certainly some things like this
had been seen in earlier products from them, but we seem to be seeing
more "reports from the field" than in the past... Part of the increased
reports could simply be the increase product penetration of inkjets...
This IS a pretty quick response from EPSON to be put in a formal format,
given the size of the firm. For that, they do deserve some credit. I'm
just not sure how comfortable I am with the spin that it isn't a problem
any more prevalent with UC inks than other inks in the industry.. That
may be literally sure when taken against the industry as a whole.. Of
course, that doesn't make it any better a situation if you are using a
2200 or 7600 or 9600 or 10600 for production printing on RC barrier type
papers.. Oh well, at least we all know what is going on, I think..
It's something for EPSON and the industry to one day solve I guess..
Hopefully they will include the note on this with their admonitions
about framing behind glass or sealing in plastic... Otherwise, I have a
feeling this is an issue will find ourselves re-addressing with
different users periodically.
Thanks for the link Harald..
