Sandy provided a welcome and very detailed print spraying description. Thank you! I'd love to start coating some of my prints. However, I work at home and am unlikely ever to invest the time and $$ necessary to set up a spray booth to deal with the inevitable airborne toxics that accompany the spraying and then spend the time it takes to spray and to maintain the spray equipment. As an alternative (and setting aside the issue of cost for the moment), what are the odds I'd be able to find someone locally who could coat my prints for me--someone with either a carefully controlled spray procedure or someone with Mayer rod application experience? Where would one begin to look for such a service? Are there already people in business that provide specialized coating services for small quantities of prints or other objects? Or are there existing businesses of some sort that might expand an existing service to include quality inkjet print coating? I realize that the quality of service is a potential issue whenever a task is outsourced, but that can be overcome. Have any list members experimented with outsourcing the coating of their prints?
