Digital BW, The Print

I just got a 1280 and the MIS VM inkset.  I'm trying to calibrate my 
monitor to the output as described in the PDF in the Files section.

As the PDF suggests, I pasted one of the wedges into an image.  I'm 
trying to adjust the curve to make it match the printout - the 
monitor is brighter than the page. As I adjust for this, I start to 
lose shadow detail in the image that is in the printout.

My monitor is (very) roughly "calibrated" - contrast to 100, 
brightness down to where 95% is just barely less dark than 100% 
(which puts it at about 6 out of 100).
