Chipped carts, good for most of us

2003-01-11 by Bob_Michaels <Bob@BobMichaels.org>

Printer manufacturers have to recover their development and production
costs plus some profit from the total sales of both printers and
supplies. It seems that printer prices are low and they make up the
difference in the sale of carts. Since I buy Epson printers at the low
price but not Epson carts, I benefiting from the everyday consumers
who buy Epson chipped carts and subsidize my low printer price.

Everyone who uses 3rd party inks / carts / CIS or CFS has the same
benefit. We just need to be grateful to those consumers using
manufactuers chipped carts who subsidize our low printer prices.
