Re: [Digital BW] Re: Epson OEM black and MIS FS colors compatible?

Gary,
The MIS and Epson OEM ink are not chemically incompatible (their PHs are similar --
which is not so for some other 3rd party inks), but you may find the tonal balance is
thrown off by the darker Epson black. Also, the dye-based Eps black will fade relatively
more than the FS grays, which will cause more tonal shifting. I'd suggest getting another
MIS FS-K cart and sending the bad one back to them for a credit -- they're good about
this.

Thanks for the note John. Since it is only my MIS FS black cartridge
and print head that is clogged, does anyone know if I can just
replace the MIS FS black with Epson OEM black and leave my half-full
MIS FS "color" cartridge (which is working perfectly) installed? Any
problem with mixing the Epson OEM black and the MIS FS gray inks? I
sure hope this clears up my black ink print head clogs. I wasn't
looking forward to trying the Windex Direct Injection technique.

  TIA,
