Thanks for the tip, Steve. Used that workflow to print out a 21 step greyscale stepwedge at 2880dpi using stock UC inkset with matte black on EAM. A stepwedge is, in my opinion, the ultimate test for greyscale output. The results were the best I've seen using the Epson driver but still not quite up to aftermarket dedicated black inksets (I've no experience using a RIP, IP5 caused my computer to crash). Wedge was neutral from 45% to 100% black. A slight magenta cast from 30% to 40%, neutral again from 15% to 30%, very slight magenta at 10% and neutral at 5%. Viewed under tungsten light so I suppose due to UC ink's metamerism tomorrow morning when I move the print over to a window the magenta casts will turn to green casts. Pretty darn close, though.
